Trump’s rational and calm response to hysteria: “Put down the mic”

If you read the news online this afternoon/evening you’ll no doubt come across the video of the Presidential Presser. It is characterized, variously, as the President “exploding” on “the media” and as some sort of meltdown. A quick viewing will dispel all notions of the President losing his cool and make it pretty clear his target was not “the media”, but a specific White House correspondent with a very nasty attitude.

Trump scolds CNN correspondent Acosta

On the contrary: What we see is Mr Trump double down on his position and rip CNN’s Jim Acosta a new..uh….headline…in a very calm and focused manner.
Acosta’s implied Mr Trump’s position on the ‘migrant caravans’ moving towards the US southern border are acting more like  ‘invaders’, by waving foreign flags and demanding entry, is an intolerant position and challenged him to justify it.
To this absurdity Mr Trump calmly countered it that Acosta and he have a difference of ‘opinion’, which completely took the wind out of the reporter’s sails.
He looked intolerant, not the President.
Oops!

Acosta reacted in a panicked fashion and immediately started pulling out the canned, partisan questions about Russia – which Mr Trump shut down with a crystal clear, solid, and simple denial: ‘It’s a hoax’. Even Acosta understood this.

However, Acosta refuses to sit down, despite being asked to by the press secretary’s staff from whom he yanked free the microphone at least twice and then asked REPEATEDLY by the President himself to give up the mic and sit down.
The President of The United States then chastises the cable news reported, saying his network should be ashamed for sending someone ‘rude’ like him to the White House – and further chastises him for being rude and ignorant to the press secretary in the past (he has been, and horribly so).
Mixed in to the whole affair are the irrelevant protests of some beta type NBC reporter and some standard stuff from normal people.
The press secretary, Mrs Sanders, had a good laugh.
The media, as usual have ginned up the story so far that it’s probably being characterized as racist or anti gay behaviour on the part of POTUS, at this point.
No doubt the Hitler comparisons and the foam in the corner of the mouth are on the way.

In the opinion of the North Signal, this unruly reported should have been forcibly removed when he grabbed the microphone from the (slightly built) woman whose job it was to handle the reporters. That kind of manhandling and the fact he ignored the President….out, just get out. Such unprofessional behaviour should not be permitted at a White House presser. Ever.

End analysis: The President has endeared himself to the general public once again, by refuting an obviously dishonest press. He’s said what millions want to say to Acosta and “the media” that back him – to his face, on LIVE TV.
We, the normal people all over the world, loved it.

CNN would be very wise to replace their WH correspondent.
His hostile relationship with the administration (no matter who is to blame) is not conducive to good reporting.
Frankly, I don’t even see how CNN is getting their press badges renewed at this point.

CNN may as well be Chinese News Network.
Hey! They would not even have to change the logo.
It’s already red.
